UCL School of Management hosts Basque Culinary Centre’s ‘Food Tech Roadshow’ Pitch Day

The UCL School of Management, in partnership with Basque Culinary Center, is on a quest to discover the next big thing in the foodtech world. We invite innovative entrepreneurs from the foodtech sector to showcase their start-up ideas at the Basque Culinary Centre’s ‘Culinary Action on the Road’ Pitch Day.

This exciting event will take place on Thursday, 1st February, from 17:00 – 20:00 on Level 50 at the UCL School of Management. The competition, which has been making waves in various countries since its inception in Europe 2021, has already seen successful events in Tokyo, Copenhagen, Buenos Aires, and New York in 2023.

The winners from each country will compete in the grand finale in San Sebastian in April 2024. This event is not just a competition, but a platform for networking, gaining inspiration from budding start-ups, and exploring new technologies. It aims to foster innovation in the field and bring together the leading start-ups within the sector.

Start-ups can apply to pitch their projects during the London competition on 1st February in front fellow participants and representatives from across the UK culinary scene.

The event will also feature panel discussions and key note speeches.

The winning start-up will have the golden opportunity to participate in the incubator program at the Basque Culinary Center.

The best start-up will be awarded a one-month residency at the LABe-Digital Gastronomy Lab start-up incubator in Donostia-San Sebastian. This open innovation living lab, run by the Basque Culinary Center, also offers a 20-hour credit for research and innovation projects at BCC Innovation, the Basque Culinary Center’s Gastronomy technology centre.
