On Tuesday 21 October 2025, UCL School of Management will welcome award-winning Ghanaian-American researcher and author Anna Gifty Opoku-Agyeman to Canary Wharf.
Anna will discuss her acclaimed book, The Double Tax: How Women of Color Are Overcharged and Underpaid, which explores the intersection of gender and racial inequality in contemporary society.
The conversation will be moderated by Associate Professor Cydney Hurston Dupree, an expert on racial equality. We invite you to join us for this inspirational and thought-provoking session, aimed at deepening awareness of inequality and advancing related research in management. A Q&A session with participants will follow the discussion.
About the author:
Anna is currently a postgraduate student at the Harvard Kennedy School, studying public policy and economics. She is the youngest recipient of the CEDAW Women’s Rights Award from the United Nations Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW). Her book has received widespread media coverage, including features in NPR, ESSENCE, TELEMUNDO, and The New York Times.
