We are delighted to share that UCL School of Management Assistant Professor Angela Aristidou was recently invited to speak at the Mastercard Foundation Summit for Global Inclusive Growth in Washington DC. Held annually, the event brings together innovative leaders and professionals with the aim of unlocking new approaches to existing challenges and utilising innovation as a means of organisational growth.

On the day, Angela was invited to speak on the ‘AI Impact Opportunity: How AI Can Benefit Humans, Not Only Profit’ panel, and discussed various elements of her extensive research on the organisational implementation and governance of artificial intelligence. In particular, Angela cited her work with Stanford University’s Digital Economy Lab and their focus on the use of AI in small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and non-profits. Angela is currently conducting extensive research for this project alongside UCL School of Management Senior Research Fellow (Hon.) Dr. Christina Langer.

In addition to her recent appearance at the Mastercard Summit, Angela was also invited to share her latest research and insights at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in Washington DC. The think tank presents independent analyses, ideas and strategies that take on some of the world’s most pressing topics in order to support and accelerate global peace.

An expert on AI and business, Angela has spoken extensively on artificial intelligence, attending the AI Action Summit in Paris earlier this year where she also spoke on a panel exploring the ways in which AI can support the prevention of gender, race and class-based discrimination in employment. In 2024, she launched a co-edited book with former US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice titled Artificial Intelligence and Democracy in America.
