UCL School of Management is proud to share the news that UCL School of Management Assistant Professor Rohin Borpujari has been named as a finalist for the 2025 Grigor McClelland Doctoral Dissertation Award and the 2025 Academy of Management “Technology and Innovation Management” Best Dissertation Award.
Presented annually, these prestigious awards showcase the best dissertation work from around the globe, recognising quality, rigour, novelty, and the potential for lasting contributions. Rohin’s dissertation, titled “Managing Secretive Innovation: A Historical Study of the Making of the Atomic Bomb”, explores how organisations and actors manage tensions between innovation and secrecy during the R&D process.
As part of the award proceedings, Rohin will present key findings and insights from his dissertation at the 2025 annual conferences of the Academy of Management and the European Group for Organizational Studies. He is grateful for this honour and recognition, and thankful to his dissertation advisor Herminia Ibarra, as well as all the mentors, supporters and well-wishers along the way.
