Professor Martin Kilduff elected to the Academy of Management Fellows Group

Earlier this month, UCL School of Management Deputy Director (Research), Professor and Head of Organisations and Innovation Martin Kilduff was elected to the Academy of Management (AoM) Fellows Group. The Group is dedicated to recognising and honouring members of the AoM who have made significant contributions to the science and practice of management, and we are proud to see Martin inducted into this esteemed community.

In addition to their focus on recognising AoM members, the Group also aims to provide opportunities for fellowship and discussion amongst recognised members and will coordinate an annual meeting to outline upcoming activities that will support the intellectual leadership of the field of management.

Martin’s research primarily focuses on social networks within organisations and includes the co-authored books Social Networks and Organisations (Sage, 2003) and Interpersonal Networks in Organisations: Cognitions, Personality, Dynamics and Culture (Cambridge University Press, 2008).

Recently, Martin has also written three articles: the first examines the personality profiles of people who broker between cliques in organisations (Academy of Management Journal, 2018). The second examines the paradox of people who feel powerful enough to engage in brokerage activities, but whose sense of power blinds them to the brokerage opportunities that are available (Journal of Applied Psychology, 2018). Finally, the third paper examines the ways in which agency has been used in organisational social networks (Academy of Management Annals, 2021).
