Biography

Dr Dimitris Giraleas is the Programme Director of the MSc in Business Analytics. He specialises in Applied Statistics, the foundations of Business Analytics and Performance Analytics. He has more than 15 years of experience designing and leading quantitative business courses and modules across a number of UK universities and other organisations, such as the NHS and DSTL. He has a PhD in Productivity Analysis from Aston University, is a long-standing member of the OR Society, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Prior to joining academia, Dimitris was an Economics Consultant. He is still very active in the field of consulting, having more than 20 years of experience in the field, mainly as an Academic Associate working for Utility companies and their Regulators in the UK and Europe. His consultancy work was recognised in the REF21 Impact case study titled: ‘Impacting regulatory methodology and revenues for gas and electricity transmission in Germany and the Netherlands’.
