Biography

Dr Mohammed Kasbar is a Lecturer in Accounting and Finance. He holds a PhD in Business and Management from Queen Mary University of London, and an MSc in Accounting and Finance from De Montfort University. He has significant experience in teaching Financial Reporting and Management Accounting at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is an active researcher, with scholarly interests including, but not limited to, financial reporting, market-based accounting research, management accounting, and corporate governance. He is a member of the editorial team of the Journal of Applied Accounting Research, and regularly engages with peer-reviewed academic publishing and professional discourse.  He has previously held lecturing positions in Accounting and Finance at Queen Mary, University of London, and De Montfort University. His teaching and research span both technical and theoretical aspects of accounting, with a growing emphasis on the intersection between governance structures and accounting information.

Outside of academia, he is a firm believer that coffee is always a good idea.
