Valentin-Ionut Cojocaru

Teaching Assistant

Biography

I am a final year MSci Statistical Science student here at UCL. In my third year I have transferred from a BSc in Statistics and Management for Business in order to study abroad for one year at UCLA.

I have a very broad and diverse work experience, as I have been a teaching assistant for UCL, a research assistant for UCL and LBS, a consultant, and I’ve worked on a trade floor in the City. Also, I strongly believe in making an impact in the community I live in. I try to inspire the next generations by teaching young children English and engaging them through art and sport. I have been awarded the ‘Central London Sport Maker of the Month of February’ for engaging people in weekly sports activities in both England and in Romania. I have also been involved in a number of philanthropic projects through the fraternity I have pledged at UCLA, such as working at a food bank in Compton and as a fundraiser for the Special Olympics.

I am a very curious person who is always eager to learn new things and meet new people. I’m bilingual in Romanian and English and I’m currently learning Italian and German. I have a passion for cooking, and I’ve been playing guitar for seven years.
